5.0 out of 5 stars Magee Magic , 13 Feb 2008
By N. T. Southorn "nick" (Manchester, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is an amazing book that just keeps getting better. Dr Magee first gives the principals and concepts before getting stuck in to all sorts of assessments from the head and face to foot with everything between. Gait analysis, posture and amputee assessments also feature and the icing on the cake is an emergency sports assessment chapter. Each chapter is concluded with a concise summary for revision purposes. The chapters are laid out logically with plenty of very clear diagrams.

Accompanied by a CD-ROM listing useful references and links to articles that are most helpful, especially for those who keep on top of evidence based practice which completes this package and makes this book an essential part of any physiotherapy or orthopaedic doctor's collection.

I feel I should be more critical but I honestly think that this is the gold standard of orthopaedic assessment.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best book in manual orthopedic examination , 24 April 2008
By David Aston (Malmö, Sweden) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Compared to all other books in manual orthopedic examination this is purely the best. The latest edition also includes a CD-ROM with references and there are a lot more of pictures in color in this edition than the previous editions. The really positive in this edition is the more clear evidence based perspective regarding different examinations techniques. One could only wish for a DVD with all of the techniques. This book is a necessity for all health care professions whom are meeting patients with musculoskeletal dysfunctions and pathologies.
