This is an unsettling but beautifully constructed play. The orphans of the title are brother and sister - she now happily married and he flirting with the law. He appears covered in blood and the story is slowly revealed. Another great play by Dennis Kelly that shows him to be a master of his craft

This was recommended to me and I read it half expecting something funny but ...it's an incredibly economic piece of drama, using just 3 characters to examine ideas of individual responsibility, culpability, fear, what society means, and how we end up living with violence, how compromising morality erodes us. Very clever, left me reeling a bit. Great study of how to use fast dialogue too.
