5.0 out of 5 stars A Brilliant Debut 9 Sep 2005
Format:Audio CD
To be honest I really didn't expect much from Sarai. Her debut single 'Ladies' was catchy but it did have an edge to it, which made me buy her album.
The 13 tracks are all worth a listen, tracks like 'Ladies, What Mama told me and Pack ya bags' are just some of the feel good tunes that get your body moving. She also shows her deep and meaningful side with tracks like 'It's Not a Fairytale, L.I.F.E and Mary-Anne'.
I think Sarai's talent has been underestimated. If you're a fan of female rappers you should check out Scorchin' Sarai.

5.0 out of 5 stars this cd is off da hook 14 Nov 2003
By liveon14887 - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Finally, a female rapper who enters the rap game and knows what REAL RAP is about. This CD is off da hook, ignore what amazon.com gave it. This is truly a 5 star album. Sarai knows what to give to the world and she delivers her work very, very well. Every song is hot and banging- some makes you think, some makes you want to change the world, others can get your groove on, which is what I like about this album. It really sets the mood. Her lyrics are something, better than any other female have ever come up with (no, Lil' Kim is not a great lyricist. She only talks about sex which is not RAP). I feel her on most of the tracks. She delivers her work as if she is a black woman. Honestly, when I heard "Ladiez" on the radio, I thought this was a black girl singing but seeing the video, I found out she is white, which shocked me to the fullest. A white woman sounding like a black girl? That's something you hardly get around here! I like the sounds of Sarai's music. It's soft, hardcore, banging and mellow. I don't know why many people are hating on her just because she "tries too hard to be a black person". Man, y'all don't know what your talking about. Don't hate on her just because of this. In fact, she isn't even trying to be a black woman. Listen to "It's Official" and you'll see what I'm talking about. I see a lot of talent in this woman and I hope she gets as big as 2Pac did, we hardly have any female rappers in the game today. I would rate her the best female rapper so far because she's the only female rapper who know what rap is about. Lil' Kim and Foxy Brown don't impress me, Princess Superstar is just another Lil' Kim wannabe, Eve's music doesn't appeal to my taste in rap music, Missy Elliot sounds a bit weird and her videos are whacked up to the meanest and Lady of Rage has disappeared, she use to be my favorite female rapper but she has all of a sudden disappeared. Where the HELL R U LADY OF RAGE??
Anyways banging tracks on this CD are LADIEZ, IT'S OFFICIAL, FAIRYTALE, MARY ANNE, PACK YA BAGS, L.I.F.E, MIND YA BUSINESS and WHAT MAMA TOLD ME. Honestly, you're looking at a future top-seller, the next best female rapper. This album will tell you the reasons why. Ignore the critics, stick to what you believe is true.

5.0 out of 5 stars WHAT A GREAT CD! 21 Sep 2003
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Gosh, don't say a "white girl can't rap", because in this case this one can. Sarai has busted onto the sence with alot of force and she's ready to take over. Sarai can rhyme to the fullest! When I heard the song "Ladies" I swear I though it was a black female rapper, then come to find out it was a white girl, just going the hell off on the mic like that is just da bomb!!! cause i'm black, and she had me so fooled. but the music is just the da bomb, so make sure u all pick this one up you won't regret it!

5.0 out of 5 stars ...a female Em? quite possibly. 2 Aug 2003

Upon hearing the hip hop blasts 'Ladies' and 'Pack Ya Bags' without any information on their artist, I thought for sure this must be a black rapper on her rise. Then I looked up some info on Sarai.
Nothing prepared me.
Seriously, upon hearing the raps in Original's tracks, you'd never think the artist behind the music would be a white girl originally from New York. But nevertheless, that's the case here, and I can definitely see her following up and becoming a big name.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sarai killing the Critics about white females rapping 11 Aug 2003
By Jennifer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
When i first heard about sarai i was like aiight lets see if you she could hold her own, and without a doubt she did just that, when you look at her and then listen to her rap, your just left in a daze. "The Original" is a great way to showcase just how well sarai can shut down all those types that say "shes white she cant rap" The CD starts off with a nice hit called "I know" which is a good song about how she looks shouldn't matter how well she can rap, and thus with the first line "im a bout to shock the world" and she did just that. Next is "Mind Ya Business" then the hit "Ladies" with is a nice summer song for us ladies. "What Mama Told me", and "It's not a fairytale" shows just how her stuggle was in life. "Pack Ya Bags" is a hit for us females that wanna get that cheating man outta our lifes. "Swear" is by far my fav. cause i can relate to it so much and it show ms. Sarai Singing a little. "you could never", and "L.I.F.E", which are two nice songs, but not a hit. "Its Offical" is nothing but a hit, cause this is her song about how she made it in the bussiness, and this song really showcase how well/fast sarai can rap. The next song gets you thinking BIG time its called "Mary Anna" its about a young person not fitting in whith their peers and having parents that hurt/beat them, and at the end kills themself. this song got he in a daze for a while after listening to it. "Black & White" is a good end to a great CD cause its shows the lines of Black & white and how it shouldn't matter, when some one has skills like Sarai. If you like Rap and wanna her someone that comes with raps like you never heard get "The Original" by Sarai you will not be disappointed
