Born in Saginaw, Michigan, Stevie Wonder moved to Detroit at an early age and has become one of that city's most famous sons. Blind from birth, Stevie has never allowed that to be an obstacle or handicap. His normal childhood activities of playing games and climbing trees with his friends were suddenly set on a different path when his amazing musical talents were spotted by Bonnie White ... 5.0 out of 5 stars Utterly tree-mendous double! 19 Aug 2008
Format:Audio CD
A really excellent double cd compilation, even if the running time is as per the original double LP release. (Only a two-disc total in the lowish eighty minutes.) If there are compilations which represent much better value-for-money, "Original Musiquarium" deserves a five-star rating for its outstanding overall quality.

It completely eschews the inclusion of any material from Stevie Wonder's sixties output, and focuses solely on the golden run of albums which started with "Music Of My Mind". Crucially, this compilation features a few tracks which do not feature on any of Stevie's individual albums. "That Girl", "Ribbon In The Sky", "Do I Do" and the fabulous "Frontline" complete a stellar selection of tracks from Stevie Wonder's most vital period.

Hard, therefore, not to recommend this as a purchase. Even as a complement to the must-have individual albums.

5.0 out of 5 stars Peerless 29 Nov 2004
Format:Audio CD
This must be the best Stevie Wonder Collection, I bought it when it first came out years ago and have tried other greatest hits collections over the years which are released by Stevie, but nothing comes close to this.
The strains of Higher Ground are a particular favourite, in fact the first three tracks of disc two run together so well you will keep playing them again and again.
That's not to say that the first disc is no good, because it is great! Living for the city being another great track.

5.0 out of 5 stars I've finally replaced my vinyl copy! 25 Oct 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
The double vinyl album of this record was fantastic! With a gatefold embossed cover and great sound. The CD version is a brilliant release with the added bonus of included lyrics. I haven't noticed any problems with the mastering mentioned below, if anything the rich bass rhythms are better than the original. Excellent!
