This CD I purchased on impulse, I had a very narrow viewpoint of what would be on it.
Boy was I wrong !!
Growing up I watched Laurel and Hardy with my grandfather and my dad, this CD swept me back to those great days. Most of the music is very familiar to me, and I would wholeheartedly encourage anyone who enjoys old movies to get this and take a trip back in time.

Well, they're FINALLY releasing the genius of Laurel & Hardy on DVD--10 discs worth, barely enough to make up for the GROSS nearly criminal oversight of the past 20+ years. All we've had for years is this amazing music, amazingly played and recorded by the Beau Hunks (who aren't Hungarian, as far as I can tell). They've nailed Stan, Ollie and Leroy Shields down pat, and reminded us that Shields was the Carl Stallings of comedy shorts--or maybe Stallings was the Leroy Shields of cartoons. Whichever, they share one trait: you almost didn't need to watch the screen to know what's going on. And this album is almost as good as a video release. So who needs DVDs anyway?

Lifelong fans of Laurel & Hardy, we love having at our fingertips a fine collection of the many tunes associated with their films. True to the original form (for the most part), it evoked great memories for us. Playing the music always makes the house happier.
