Four of these cartridges cost more than the original printer. Trick is however that the cartridges that come with the printer are not full of ink so it's not a fair comparison. Having said that HP laser cartridges ARE expensive. But, and it's a big but they are worth getting over the refurbished, refilled or copies by unknown companies. "Humph, you don't know what you're getting" as Police Office Wigum said.
Also the refurbished ones are hardly any cheaper anyway, last time I looked.

I bought an imitation rip-off cartridge and it just leaked toner everywhere, every sheet was streaked with colour all over the place. I tried this one and it is perfect. Ok, I sound a bit like I might own this company haha, but I'm just a normal end user. Some things in life you can skimp on, some things you can't. I've just found out that you can't skimp on toner cartridges.

The product was delivered timeously. I have not yet installed it due to the existing toner not having been exhausted, but, as it is a genuine HP product, I am sure that it will be of first class standard.
