We are entering the second decade of the 21st century and the 1980's started 30 years ago, and not surprisingly, people are now getting nostalgic for the `decade that taste forgot'.
Punk was still twitching in it's death throes and the Mods were back and The New Romantics were beginning to make themselves known.
Electronic music became the norm as the guitar-led groups faded from view.
Having said that, the music was pretty good, as evidenced in this superb collection.
It was a time when the artists were taking themselves a bit too seriously, but the music-buying public weren't.
It's all here, from the quieter moments of Adrian Gurvitz's Classic to the over the top antics of Adam Ant's Prince Charming.
Some old friends also returned to the charts in this decade - like The Four Tops and Dr Hook; and the soul fans were catered for by Soul II Soul and Peabo Bryson & Roberta Flack.
Yes, it was a decade of conflicting styles, but some damn' fine listening - and the very best of the decade is included here.
And for about 6 or 7 pence per track, it's fantastic value.
