5.0 out of 5 stars The only hardcore album you'll ever need! 3 Nov 2002
Format:Audio CD
When I really started getting into music in 1994, it was the Happy Hardcore style that grabbed my attention - I loved the massive amount of energy that came out of every highly melodic track. So, when I purchased this album, it was a very welcome return to my past...
I have to say first of all that listening to this compilation has made me realise that happy hardcore tunes are enjoying a massive revival at the moment - Scooter have made a successful comeback (although they never really disappeared in many European countries), and many of the tracks on this album are being remade to become hits all over again ("Shooting Star" by Bang/Flip 'n' Fill, "Heart Of Gold" by Force & Styles/Kelly Llorenna, and the recent hit for N-Trance "Forever" is actually a remake of "Stay Here Forever" by Brisk & Fade).
There are just too many tracks to review them all individually, so I will highlight a few choice cuts from both CDs...
CD 1:
- "Freedom" by QFX ~ these guys have always been massive in Scotland, and this was one of their first (and best) hits - wispy vocals, and dreamy synths make this a hands-in-the-air stormer!!
- "Forever Young" by Interactive ~ another classic hardcore tune that's enjoyed a recent revival, this has always been one of alltime favourite songs - the chorus is massive and the frantic beats are infectious!
- "Fly Away" by Visa ~ Visa are actually the producers behind Clock (remember them???), but fear not, they make fantastic melodic hardcore tunes - this one is without a doubt their best, with fantastic vocals and cute synth hook!
- "You're Shining" by Breeze & Styles ~ imagine a cross between PPK and Ian Van Dahl/Milk Inc/Lasgo, only much faster, and you have this little gem!

Format:Audio CD
Original Hardcore is a must have for happy hardcore fans!!! The blend of oldies and newies gives everything something to listen to !!! A suprise old Fav QFX - Freedom brings ultimate class to the album along with shooting star ( the ultimate HH anthem) and many others..... instead of me going on and on and on about each track and boring the pants of you ..... if you want good party music or you just can't get enough HH get this album !!!! It is a must have to set beside the bonkers and Helter Skelter Cd's!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Attention All Hard Housers Hardcore Is Back! 23 Jan 2003
Format:Audio CD
This is a overall good album and i would still recomend it to anyone, BUT, there are still some very odd choices. Personally Scooter is hard house not hardcore and the Technohead are not what i would class as an Hardcore act, they are techno (as the name suggests)and doesn't really fit in here.
There are over 40 tracks that make the album well worth the price.
If you are a hard house fan and stumbled upon this by accident it must be fate because this is the best comprimise between hardcore and hard house i have ever heard (or at least for a while anyway!). They are all hard tracks, they have to be to make it onto the album, but there are some that can only just be classed as hardcore. These include 'Insights' "If Thats Alright With You" and the "Field OF Dreams" by 'Force & Styles'. But then there are some classic DJ's returning and they often bring the classic songs with them for example there is Scott Brown, SY, Demo, Ham, Unknown, Brisk and Fade. There are also some classic tunes like 'Steamtrain' 'Shooting Star' And 'Forever Young'.
It also gives the new generation the Decks and lets them show us what they can do.
My personal fav' is the second CD! It is the ultimate for born again ravers. Sy & Unknown make this spin exactly like they used to and prob always will! Quality!
