About the Author
Maisie Parrish specializes in creating cute and colourful characters for cakes. She also contributes to magazines including Cakes & Sugarcraft and Cake Craft & Decoration. Maisie is based in South Wales.

Very helpful book. I'm a complete novice with a wish to get into this and when I saw the complete pictures i did not think it possible that I could create them but piece by piece, it came together and now I feel inspired and confident to try something harder and more intricate.

This book has a great selection of character cakes which are very detailed step by step. Explanations are easy to understand even for a total beginner. I have really enjoyed this book from cover to cover. The designs used mean that you can pick and mix the characters and just do a part of the design, great for cupcakes and small cakes as well as a fully decorated cake.

Not for beginners
Great for all types of cake decorators and I am yet to use this but looking forward to creating some unique cakes very soon but not for beginners !

My First Hippo
Maisie... love your books and your instructions are great. My first ever fancy cake was this Hippo in the bath. I was sooo rapt and I made it all by myself and she looked great.
