Product Description

Product Description

Written by Jule Styne (music) and Berry Comden and Adolph Green (lyrics), Do Re Mi starred Phil Silvers and Nancy Walker. Silvers, better known as Sgt Bilko, played the part of Hubert Cram, a wheeler dealer trying to make the big time. When he finally finds an artist that he can project to stardom, he runs foul of the Mob. Initially trialled off Broadway, the show proved to be a major success and was successfully transferred to the 54th Street Theatre and ran for over 400 performances.

The sound on this cheesy reissue of the old Comden and Green minor classic is ghastly--shallow and flat. A shame because the old RCA vinyl and subsequent BMG CD sounded like classic, if minor Broadway--and here, thanks to the dismal acoustics, it's just a dud. Avoid.
