A wee small point that may just tip the scales into buying this set.
Although billed as original series they are in fact the 2008 remastered set so are better than the originals.
When you add this fact to the price, at less than 8 quid these are a steal.
Others in the 'original series' for different artists for example ELO are for sale at twice the price.

Format:Audio CD
As I have followed Rod Stewarts music for ages, and been a stong fan, I had to add this one to my collection. It is not the same without the complete collection of his music.

WHY SHOULD YOU BUY THIS 5-MINI VYNIL REPLICA CD SET?

MINI LONG PLAYS:
I was surprised to come by this BOX SET, as a collector's item its nice to have small vynil replicas on CD.(though there are no lyrics or inner jacket sleeves or explanatory info on why these 5 titles were put together.) The discs dont come in jewel cases turning the package into a nice gift for a dear friend to be surprised with in the mail box.(These are no REMASTERS either).
STORY:
As an old timer I own all these albums in L.P. and I have been struggling to get them brand new on cd for a decent price. When I started listening to ROD STEWART his sound was fresh, young and wild,(NEW WAVE HARD ROCK WITH SOME SOUL) nothing like the "DANDY CROONER" he has turned into in the last decade. O.K...he deserves all the success he's having with his "frank sinatra style"The Great American Songbook Collection (4CD/DVD) but something got lost in between...BUT HERE you WILL LISTEN to THAT RAUNCHY SCREECHING ROCK N ROLL VOICE! That will always represent STEWART.
Four of the albums are from the 80's and only one from the 90`s. unfortunately (1982)Absolutely Live,(1983)Body Wishesand(1988)Out of Orderare left out of the box.SO IT ISNT AN EIGHTIES ALBUM COMPILATION or a part one of two...

The later is a Live album and maybe the other two will have DELUXE EDITIONS??? or just for copyrights,management,or even production restrictions.

THE REASON:
This edition is for ROD STEWART unconditional supporters,and completers. People like you and I, who liked the voice independent of the style he was performing. There are lots of songs here that are almost impossible to be found unless you've got a nice turntable.Hidden treasures forgotten byradio/songbook-dvds One Night Only - Rod Stewart Live at Royal Albert Hall which represent an era of joy and passion for whole albums and not only for singles/downloads. Every song was important and sometimes they became the soundtrack to our lives.
ENJOY LOUD
