Got into the Scorpions late with their 80's and 90's heyday, except for Wind of Change obviously. Had a green 7" single with tracks off Lovedrive. Anyway, these 3 are from '75,'76, and'77, when UliJon Roth was lead guitarist. The tracks herein are all a bit formulaic, Scorpions are the Status Quo of metal, discuss, but listening to them took me right back to when this was dangerous music, and was just before punk exploded. Scorpions are still here, where's punk gone? These are the three albums that took them from German legends through to European superstars then on to world domination via Japan. Little Klaus sings his socks off. The seeds of greatness are already in place and despite looking like a a gang of serial killers on "Virgin Killer", and then a gay glam band on "Taken by Force", the music has the foundation for the world domination that was to come. Treat yourself to these albums to find out what all the fuss was about. You will not be disappointed. The tracks sound like they were recorded yesterday - Dieter Dierks was weaving his magic in the studio. The Cd's come in cardboard replica sleeves, all in a sturdy outer box. For the money this is daylight robbery.
