This collection is comprised of five of the first six Poco albums (only the live "Deliverin'" is missing) in cute cardboard facsimilies of the original LPs housed in a no-frills slipcase, however it is what is on the CDs that makes this the bargain of the decade. Poco were one of the most influential and sadly neglected American bands of the rock era. Poco's influence on the west-coast/country-rock scene is well documented, Glen Frey and Don Henley themselves admitted that Poco was the template they used when putting together the Eagles. This set represents the entire released studio output of the band from their inception from the ashes of the ledgendary Buffalo Springfield, until the departure of their (then) leading light Richie Furay. Those familiar with the later period Poco or indeed any of their imitators and offshoots will appreciate the quality of the songs, the energy, and the vocal performances. Eagles fans in particular will be awestruck by the T.B Schmit originals collected herein, and may just be convinced that these boys never got the breaks they justly deserved. Poco never courted fame or responded to fads and trends, Poco never reinvented themselves or changed direction radically. What they did is refine and redefine what they did best, starting with the youthful exuberance of "Pickin' Up The Pieces", via the instrumental forays of "Poco", the laid-back "From The Inside" and the energetic "Good Feelin' To Know" until arriving at the sublime listening experience that is "Crazy Eyes". What a bargain. What are you waiting for? Buy it now!
