5 albums for the price of one. Hall & oates made great pop music back then. In fact they still do. It was the recent albums that re-ignited my interest and made me go and buy these to replace my old vinyl copies.
If you like blue eyed soul you'll love this box set. Each disc is in a facsimile of the origianl LP sleeve and most feature 12" single versions too if you like that sort of thing.
Top tip from me is to check out Daryl's website. 'live From Dary'ls' and you'll see him playing tracks from these with many famous guests and of course John oates.

Format:Audio CD
The actual Track Listing is difficult to read on Amazon and this is important because of the CDs DARRYL HALL & JOHN OATES,PRIVATE EYES and H2O,are not in actual fact the original albums rather they are the better ones with additional bonus tracks the really makes this set even better value.
So if say you already have CDs of DARRYL HALL & JOHN OATES,PRIVATE EYES or H2O but baulk at buying this set just to get the other 4 or 3 the fact that the one you have now with extra tracks and possibly remastered - check this out on other reviews makes this a really great investment.
Now to the covers.
Cheap neat card covers of the original (but extra tracks) LPs yes enclosed in a cardboard sleeve about the size of the old Two CD Jewel boxes makes these great for storage.
Lots of people hate the card sleeves I love them.
I listen to the music and don't play the sleeves- but each to their own.
At this price it can work out cheaper to buy these rather than the best of compilations.

Format:Audio CD
Unlike most sets in this series of reissues which tend to have broadly sequential recordings, this box consists of their 4th, 5th and 6th studio albums, their first three for RCA after they moved from Atlantic, and then their 10th and 11th! The good news is that, as a result, this collection includes 4 of their best 5 charting albums in the US and most of their number one US singles including Rich Girl, Private Eyes, I Can't Go For That and Maneater. Those people, myself included, who liked their earlier stuff for Atlantic, will prefer the first two albums here which continue the rich vein of white soul that started with their classic second Atlantic outing Abandoned Luncheonette in 1973. Bigger Than Both of Us in particular is my favourite RCA album of theirs (which is saying something given the quality of their back catalogue) and includes the terrific tracks Back Together Again, Crazy Eyes, Do What You Want and You'll Never Learn as well as the slightly atypical Rich Girl. Beauty on a Back Street is probably the weakest album in this set but Hall's voice is always very listenable and the two later albums have a poppier feel which no doubt contributed to their greater commercial success. A bargain box in all senses of the word.
