HP 901 Cartridge, 2 April 2009
This review is from: HP Original 901 Tri-colour OfficeJet Ink Cartridge (Office Product)
This product arrived promptly and well packaged. In the past I has used "replica" cartridges and I have a new printer and sticking to original HP Cartridges. This is a well priced product.

Buyer Beware, Hp 901 Colour Cartridge, Low Page Yield 9mls That's Just 3mls Per Colour, 4 May 2011
This review is from: HP Original 901 Tri-colour OfficeJet Ink Cartridge (Office Product)
When HP sell you a new printer (J4524) they only give you starter cartridges with it which hold a very small amount of ink in them Hp 901 black 4ml and the Hp 901 9ml colour cartridges. I was using about 3 black and 2 colours cartridge per month and it was costing me a small fortune. I later found out that Hp do a higher yield versions of the 901 black cartridge which cost only a few pounds more but hold far more ink in them than the starter cartridge which I was using before. What you need is a HP 901XL on the black which hold 14mls of ink rather than the 4mls of ink that is in the 901 starter black cartridge. HP don't make a XL version of the colour cartridge. I can even go one better, I now use a company called advantage online who stock the Hp 901XL originals plus do a British premium compatible 901XL bk and 901XL colour cartridges which hold 20mls black and 21mls colour. I have used them a couple of times so far and have been quite impressed. I hope you don't fall into the Hp trap of selling a very good printer (Officejet J4524) at a very cheap price and then trying to charge you load of money for starter cartridges.

Expensive and fails plus bad customer service - why would you buy HP?, 12 Mar 2010
This review is from: HP Original 901 Tri-colour OfficeJet Ink Cartridge (Office Product)
I bought an HP all in one printer aware of the fact that it would be cheap but printing supplies not. What I did not expect was that every second printer cartridge would fail. And this is with original HP print cartridges bought of Amazon or HP direct ! Message on the printer: 'printer cartridge failed' or 'not original HP cartridge'. First: the stuff is really expensive and second then it doesn't even work? You must be kidding me HP. Trying to find a number at HP's website to call is a nightmare, there are so many different help-lines and it is absolutely unclear which one to call. A real big corporate mess. When I finally got trough someone (presumably in India given the accent and background noise), the guy took all my details, made me give the printer number, cartridge number, wipe the cartridge, restart the printer and so on and so on. He then concluded he couldn't help and would send a replacement cartridge. That never happened. He also wouldn't give his name (as usual, but he had my address and everything, so could have pursued identity fraud with no additional effort at all). HP? Never again, sorry. Ah, and btw: yes, the printer also jams, and it is almost impossible to get it right as the internal parts where the paper gets stuck are not accessible at all. Also there is no dustcover for the paper, so everytime you print the top-paper full of dust will soil the printheads and internal parts of the printer. No really, what a piece of bad engineering (and that's a euphemism, I would have liked to say something else).
