I was put on to this by a friend who had seen Joe live...I was not disappointed...He uses a live loop sampler to weave intricate beats and riffs made only by his own mouth and a few key instruments, truly awesome. On the strength of this I will be searching for his next live UK performance.
If there is a drawback it is the fact that there are only 5 songs clocking in at a total of 20 mins, but this is balanced out by the DVD you get showing how Joey does what he does and some live performance footage........and at the price here you can't go wrong.
Think De La Hip-Hop meets Marley-tinged Reggae meets Tribal Folk music and if it sounds like your thang...get involved...we need more of this original creativity in todays music world.
Update : Just tracked down an old album of Joe's : Life as a Monkey - get it now - it's a lot more raw, Amazon don't sell it but if you look hard enough you will find it...
