I've been folding for a little over a year now and this was one of my first books. Initially I was only able to do a few of the 'simpler' models and after a while put the book aside and tried other stuff. About a month ago I picked it up again and started working on the hardest model - the crab. At first I found it hideously complex but I got there in the end and can now fold one as good as the one on the cover albeit after a couple of hours' hard graft. I think this book gives the novice folder a glimpse of what really complex origami must be like. With the book's harder models Lang assumes you can sustain precision in your folding, can understand complicated diagrams and have mastered tricky folds like closed sinks, wraps and more. If you're new to folding you may want to try an easier book to get your confidence up. On the other hand if you've been at it a while you'll probably already have bought the book and will be struggling like the rest of us.

Amazing 5 April 1999

Format:Paperback
This book contains dozens of charming animals, from high-immediate to complex models. Instrucions of diagrams in this book are neat, a novice folder may feel a little hard to follow. But for experienced folders, this is a wonderful book.

This book is perfect for anyone looking for truly traditional origami that involves no cutting or glue. It is also an excellent choice for advanced origami fans who find themselves lost in a sea of children's books on the subject. Lastly, almost all of the models in this book are three-dimentional and will stand unaided. It is a must-have!
