5.0 out of 5 stars how a book can change your life, 6 May 2002

i received origami 1-4 when i was six as birthday presents. i was instantly hooked! it was because of the models (which are mostly traditional) in these four books that my lifelong passion was formed. while these books might not be of much interest to adults because of the layout (there are other simple model books more appropriate and interesting for adults), children who are just starting out with origami will respond very well to the bright, colourful pictures and clear diagrams. if your child is looking to try a new hobby, these books are an excellent place to begin!

2.0 out of 5 stars Origami No. 1, 1 July 2001
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Origami (Fun with Paper Folding S.) (Paperback)
The first book in a series of sixteen by Atsuke Nakata contained a few models that I have always enjoyed teaching children. These models are the cicada and the jewel box. Personally, I do not enjoy making houses or furniture such as an organ and bench which are also featured in this book. The book also contains a model for a hat, two different fish, a boat, and a simple purse.
