Origami for Children 21 Sep 2010
Format:Paperback
I bought this for a 6 year old who has recently discovered origami. The fun that was got out of this book straight away is telling enough that it a great present. The book comes with a complete set of pretty coloured origami paper so you can make everything in the book look just like the illustrations. The illustrations (mostly photographs) are clear enough for children to follow even if they don't or can't read. Once you have shown them the principles the rest comes quite easily.

I would have liked to see more animals and birds included but the projects seemed to appeal well enough to a six year old.

I bought 2 of these books for my grandchildren to keep them occupied and they love them. Even better because you get the sheets of paper with them, so they can start making things straight away without looking for paper.

Having read the reviews about how easy this book was for children I thought I had found the right one. This book does have pretty paper at the back for you to use, however only the 1 star(very easy)projects could my 8 year old do on her own. The 2 star projects even had my husband and I baffled. We haven't tried any 3 star ones yet(hardest). All the instruction did have pictures but some of the time the photo of the hands covered the actual fold that you needed to see. I think it might be put away and wait until she has that degree!
