To quote another bookseller, if I lost this book I'd not replace it. It was insufficiently detailed for what it's title promised.

Not much book for the money,

I was disappointed in this book. For the high price, I expected it would be much more comprehensive. Includes a few photographs, many rather crude line drawings and very little text. There is very little here that isn't found in countless other books on Oriental rugs and most of those can be had for far less money.

The book is well presented and provides a great overview for the beginner. The disappointment is that it simply provides an overview. Perhaps it was too ambitious to expect to find a meaningful presentation of symbols.
