One of the best collections for women that I've ever read 27 Sep 2010
By Mrs. Baumann - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Plot Summary: "Orgasmic: Erotica for Women" has twenty-five stories in a little over 200 pages, and they all focus on one thing - orgasm from the female perspective. With infinite variety and endless creativity, the women in these stories find THE ultimate satisfaction with their long-time lovers, new partners, or illicit assignations. Some women like to be dominated, and some like to be in the saddle (literally). It's a stunning collection that lavishes all of its attention on women and the ways they come.

It's "Orgasmic" indeed. Some of these stories sent me straight to the moon, and then I drifted back down to earth only to take off again on the next page. After I finished this book it occurred to me that I've never read anything that focuses so wholly on female satisfaction. I think men tend to steal the limelight since they express arousal and orgasm in such a visual fashion. Women know how to hide it and fake it like pros, and sometimes that works against us, because our bodies are not simple to decipher, and oh! the frustration when we desperately want someone to break our code and read us like a book. That happens in "Orgasmic," and it's a glorious experience.

"Chemistry" by Velvet Moore starts with the line, "The smell of science makes me horny." After reading about what happens to a hospital administrator in a laboratory, I can certainly understand why. The heroine in "Seeing Stars" by Louisa Harte suffers on a camping trip until she learns that exposing herself in nature can draw forth her primitive side, and every soft breeze or cool drop of rain is a sensory explosion while making love under the stars. Another couple has stealth sex in a public place while watching a lunar eclipse in "Moon Tantra" by Teresa Noelle Roberts.

As hot as I found the outdoor action, I was just as tantalized when things moved inside. "Making Shapes" by Lily Harlem portrayed a woman who is my kind of artisan, and she makes functional art based on molds of her client's most intimate parts. Who ever heard of falling in love with a penis at first sight? Well, it happens here. "Animal Inside" by Neve Black is a voyeur's dream, with a hole in the wall and two strangers enjoying their separate, yet shared, experiences. In "The London O" by Justine Elyot, a woman teases her lover with tales of past escapades, only to have him top them all with the help of a special pair of knickers.

These were just some of my favorites from this "Orgasmic" collection. Ladies, enjoy yourselves.

Orgasmic Indeed 19 Oct 2010
By Dez - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Orgasmic definitely took me a while to get into. There is no reason in particular, just a matter of mood I suppose. Despite that I really enjoy the straight to orgasm styling of this erotica compilation. Each story is written from the female point of view, generally accompanied by a heterosexual coupling. As a heterosexual myself I didn't mind, but I would have liked to have seen a bit more alternative coupling stories.

There is only one common theme in this compilation and that is the orgasmic female satisfaction. No plot or ending was like the one before it. This provides a wonderful variety that keeps one wanting to read on rather than skip pages because it is too similar. The focus is a bit on the vanilla side, so those who want something a little more hardcore should check out some of Rachel's other compilations. Hopefully however you'll be able to find at least one or two scenes that suit your interests. I know that my favorite had to do with cupcake frosting and "no one knows he's under the table" thrills while at a party.

Inevitably Arousing, Indeed 29 Aug 2010
By Robert T Bakie - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
It took me some time to properly absorb this one. With most of the books Rachel edits, I tend to run pell-mell through them, mentally bookmarking my favorite stories and then impatiently drumming my fingers, waiting for the next collection. This one was a bit slower to take in. Is it less visceral? No, not really. Is it that I'm a guy and the collection is ostensibly aimed toward women? Maybe a little, as each story is told from the woman's perspective, but I don't think that that makes it any less powerful as a collection. I guess this collection just lends itself to savoring and slow-burn more than pell-mell running, and that's just fine.

As always with Rachel's collections, it's easy to pull some favorite stories out:

In "Frosting First," by Lana Fox, an encounter that turns into a mixture of culinary delights and secretive(?) exhibitionism sets the stage (table) for future fun.

In "All She Wanted," by Andrea Dale, a pregnant sub and her dom husband find a way to safely and delightedly get their kink on, when they add a friend and switch the roles around.

In "The Waiting Game," by Elizabeth Coldwell, a holiday cottage, terrible weather and an unreliable deck of cards create a "perfect storm" of erotic anticipation.

In "The Chair," by Lolita Lopez, a submissive woman finds delight in a specialized chair and the ministrations and "punishment" of her inventive lover.

And, as you might expect form one who edits so many great collections, Rachel's own "The Belt," about a woman and her need for a worn leather belt and the man who skillfully wields it, is also a standout of this anthology.
