Useful but not groundbreaking 1 Jan 2012
By Jeremy Aldrich - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This book is primarily about organizing your home and also deals a little with time management. It is divided into the following sections:

GETTING STARTED
- Live your life in chapters: the author encourages you to define your organization by your chapter in life, being willing to end previous chapters
- Set organizing goals: unfortunately, the worksheet approach isn't terribly useful on a Kindle. The author also trots out two overly-long, sometimes-arbitrary "mnemonic" acronyms as she creates steps for every letter in the words REORGANIZE and SIMPLIFY
- Establish and evaluate organizing systems - The Three Ps: People, Process, Products
- Finding time and staying motivated: chapters like this one are the strongest parts of the book, breaking down typical difficulties and providing practical ideas for overcoming them

REORGANIZE YOUR SURROUNDINGS
- Evaluate your home and establish your objectives: a room-by-room analysis
- Deciding what to keep and what to remove: this chapter reminded me of the TV show "Clean Sweep"
- Reorganizing what's left: general theory and room-by-room ideas

MANAGE YOUR TIME
- Organize your time during your transition: tips for overplanning for a time in order to create new habits
- After the event - What does your new schedule look like? : ideas for creating and managing goals

STAYING ORGANIZED
- Create systems that support you: some final practical tips

APPENDIX: more worksheets, a reading list, a handy chart on how long to keep documents, websites to visit, and an index

Overall the author's tone is friendly and helpful, and if your goal is organizing your home this would be a good starting point. If you're more interested in general life organization with greater emphasis on your life outside the home, I would also recommend Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity.

Getting a Fresh Start 4 Jan 2012
By Jen Tucker - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
A great read for those who really need help getting going with organizing in their home or in their life. I appreciated the author's explanations, and side stories, of why she finds fulfillment in helping others help themselves with the huge task that rearranging one's life can bring. Not everyone finds clearing clutter from their lives to be an easy thing. This book will be of great help to those who are motivated to make some changes.

Thought provoking 18 Jan 2012
By grammyg - Published on Amazon.com

I downloaded this book for Free on my Kindle Fire and had no problems doing so. At first I thought it was all about orgainizng your home, but as I started the book it brings up great points about changes in your life and how to help yourself prepare for them. I am still at the beginning of the book, so I can't go into detail of the whole book, but so far I am enjoying what I have read and it is at a perfect time in my life to be reading this. It has made me stop and think about what is going on in my life and how to make it easier for me.
