'Children are guaranteed to enjoy themselves while discovering that you don't have to log in to let your hair down.' --Sunday Express

Product Description

The suggestion of playing a game will divide any room in two quicker than the Marmite debate. There are those who leap gleefully from their seats with suggestions and pointy elbows, and others who hide behind cushions quaking at the potential humiliation. When it comes to games, Josie Curran probably falls into the 'pointy elbow' category. "Organised Fun" is a big, beautifully illustrated reminder of a time before television when we made our own entertainment. Old favourites are here - from Blind Man's Buff to Sardines, Consequences and Splat the Rat - as well as ideas for new fun things to do that won't cost a penny, from Human Crufts to Ellie's Brilliant Hat Game and Frolf - golf played with frisbees...Whether on a long car-journey, at a party or stuck indoors on a rainy day, a copy of "Organised Fun" will give you all the inspiration and information you need to ensure that the days of 'how does that game go again?' are a thing of the past.

Great Buy 3 July 2009
Format:Hardcover
I ordered this book as I'm in charge of organising a hen do for a good friend and was a bit stuck for ideas. This book ended up being a good send! What's great about it, is that loads of the ideas in are can be used in the day (we played loads of the games on the beach) and really bring back memories of childhood. We finished the hen do with loads of drinking games. CHeck out Human Buckaroo hilarious.

I simply love this book. I was recommended it by a very good friend and it has proved to be an absolute gem.

We love games in our house and this book couldn't be a better source of fun - from the sheer brilliant to the frankly ridiculous.

This is the perfect antidote for today's TV generation and for thousands of parents with demanding kids - this book will turn even the dullest moment into the perfect opportunity to let off some steam and tap into the competitive gene in all of us.

Camping holidays by the sea will never be the same again and as our kids grow old, they will have enjoyed pretty much every one of the games that Josie so passionately describes.

Brilliant.

A brilliant book that offers suggestions that range from slapstick silly to clever fun.

Everything is clearly labelled so you can find what you want (eg outdoor games, indoor games, Christmas-themed fun and even fun at work...) and there's a good range of old favourites, including plenty of the best Victorian parlour games, plus new soon-to-be-favourites. We don't have kids but will definitely bring this along to family gatherings! There are also a number of games that are more suitable for grown ups, which are also very good fun.

All in all, a really great book to have. I'm sure we'll enjoy it for years to come, and the sturdy hardback cover and thick, good-quality paper looks like it will endure lots of use. Thanks very much to the author for sharing her accumulated knowledge of how to have a good time!
