I'm a guitar nerd and I like players like Mike Landau, Steve Lukather, Oz Noy, Wayne Krantz etc. If you like these guys then buy the CD. It is what it is 'Organic' no 80's processed sounds that hark back to Mike's 'Tales' CD just pure tone. When he uses a chorus on this CD it's to create a leslie type sound that's all. I can't stop listening to 'Big Sur Howl', the main instrument on that track is a flugel horn and it's just great.

Tone master! 8 Mar. 2012
By Michael - Published on Amazon.com

Organic Instrumentals is yet another great release from Michael Landau showcasing his amazing use of sweet guitar tones to create unique instrumental guitar music. Unlike some of his contemporaries, Michael Landau avoids the guitar hero vibe and instead focuses his talents on creating seemingly understated pieces of music that play to a deeper level. The guitar tones he uses are brilliant and his mature composition skills will keep you hearing new things each time you spin this disc. I have always been a fan of what Michael Landau has added to music by other artists in his role as guitar session legend and now he has an excellent solo album that really captures his unique style. Despite the fact that Michael Landau may never rock out as much as his session partner in crime Steve Lukather, Organic Instrumentals is highly recommended to fans of virtuoso guitar playing focused on achieving the elusive ultimate tone.

Amazing recording! 24 Mar. 2012
By David G McCain - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
I own Tales From The Buldge as well as his two CD live set. And this recording blew me away. Landau is not a Satriani or Vai type of player. He takes his time with his melodies and loves to go deep with the listener. This is a great CD set of tunes which shows more of Landau's Jazz-Hendrix style ( think Axis: Bold As Love mixed with John Abercrombie style chords ). The whole thing is a real treat for fans of guitar playing. If you are looking for more agressive fusion stuff, try Tribal Tech. This recording isn't like Landau's albums mentioned earlier. It's laid back but intense in its delivery. I strongly recommend this album if you are into Landau's playing.

Amazing Album ! 20 Mar. 2012
By stephen watkins - Published on Amazon.com

A phenomenal guitarist , and also a solid song writer - Landau delivers ! He has a unique place among brilliant guitarists . His style is Bluesy-Jazzy -Folky ( he tours with James Taylor sometimes ), with his own beautiful chord work . Not an 'in-your-face' effort, but rather , an album of nuance, simmering lead lines, and tremendous power !!!

micheal landau's latest recording 8 Oct. 2013
By Invisible Man - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD Verified Purchase
micheal landeau like robben ford has great finesse on his instrument, but like many of the ace guitarist's recordings which I own the listener is offered up parts of ideas (not fully explored nor developed),insufficient to reveal a deep musicality. Like many instrumentalists of his obvious skills, it would likely be a very good idea to climb out of the woodshed and employ this same commitment to the difficult/rewarding study of composition. After all, Music has to be considered a serious and wonderful form of expression, often simply overwhelming to my mind, but masterful playing, even virtuosic playing is not enough to complete the job the musician has set before himself. The magical combination of the two is what is sublime. Thank you sincerely, Richard Lycette

masterpiece 3 July 2012
By Don A. Davis - Published on Amazon.com

I have been a fan of jazz fusion for many years. This was my first time purchasing a Michael Lanau CD, though I have heard him play on many other CDs. I recommend this CD. This CD was amazing. It included a list of great band members too. I prefer guitar and bass which seems to be one of the highlights of this CD. Good job Michael...keep on playing and recording CDs.
