Lizzie Vann's organic baby and toddler cookbook is a throughly great book for mother and child. It is full of interesting receipes from 4 months to toddler, it includes meal planners which are great for first time mum's!! To nutritional values of each meal so you know exactly what the most precious thing in your life is getting and the benefits of what your child is eating. The receipes are easy to follow, and preperation times are given, the book is well set out and explains how much to give to your child. I have used this book for my second child and it is like my bible, my daughter loves the meals I prepare for her, from breakfast right through to dinner! The meals can be prepared and frozen, the book explains how long the food can be frozen for or refrigerated, and this is great for working mums who need to freeze the food if time is of the essence. I give this book a five star rating and is a must for any new mum, starting to wean their child.

Fantastic book - great, easy recipes with lovely photos. The portion sizes are realistic and the recipes are very original. I must admit I was a little hestitant in trying some of them (such as Veg Korma and Fruity Chicken), but oddly enough my daughter adores those very ones !
I never thought I would end up using more recipes from here than Annabel Karmel's, but I have.
Also the recipes are featured in the Organix range of babyfoods which is nice if you want to test your baby on the jarred version before spending the time cooking your own.
Well done Ms Vann.

I love this book...the author is unafraid to make use of herbs and spices to actually make the meal taste of something. The recipes are easy to follow, and really easy to adapt if you're missing some of the ingredients. The book is fairly short but a great source of inspiration. Home-cooked, the recipes taste far better than their equivalents in jars.

As a first time mum with little (or no) time on her hands - and about as much talent in the kitchen as my seven-month old, even I can make the meals (and sometimes they even look like the pictures)!!
The recipes in this book are not only extremely tasty, colourful and adaptable, but they are also good for baby (and some are nice for mummy and daddy, too!)
Have confidence in yourself that you can make your own baby food ... and, on days when you can't, at least you have the knowledge that you know EXACTLY what goes into the jars!
Buy this book. Enough said?

Unlike ordinary baby food books this one does not advise you to disguise childrens food into a face shape or such. Basic common sense, nutritious food that my sons adore. Especially the burger recipe that consists only of mince, onion, sage and breadcrumbs. Other favourites include, little gourmet macaroni cheese, chicken dippers, fresh & fruity shakes and fruit bread fingers.
A real winner with the whole family, no need to make separate adult meals.
Excellent.

I originally borrowed this from our library! The recipes are not too time-consuming (I write as someone who does not own a food-processor). Unlike many other books, these recipes do not involve lots of weighing or fiddly quarter tsps (usually just a few spoons, whole veg or a measuring jug (floz or ml)) and are easy to multiply if you want a larger quantity. Fine veg chopping is fiddly but worth it. Also, the ingredients are easy to find in a standard store ie tinned butter beans, frozen sweetcorn. I did find other books required things I cannot get ie rice wine vinegar. I have used these recipes so much more than any other, I need to get my own copy! I taste everything before I give it to baby and we both like these. Strangely, on processed food my baby is very fussy, on home-made, she is no trouble.

I tried this book first of all from the library but because I wanted to type up every single recipe I decided to just buy it. I like the fact it acknowledges that many people start weaning earlier than 6 months and provides tasty recipes for you to try. Whilst I'd love every ingredient to be organic as the book suggests it isn't always possible but you can still do the recipes.

The flavours are great and my son (six months old) loves the potato and cheese dinner, the tomato and chicken casserole, vegetables with chicken and all of the porridges. We'll be trying the Christmas pudding recipe as well. I like the fact it tells you how much a 4 month will get from the recipe and how much a 7 month old will get so my little man gets somewhere in between.

All the recipes I've tried smell and taste delicious, so surely if I think it's nice it must be nice? My baby wolfs everything down from this book, it's been a real hit in this household! The only criticism I have is that you need to check at this early stage that all ingredients are suitable. For example, he shouldn't have really had cheese (as in the potato and cheese dinners) but when this is the only recipe he ever has had with dairy products in, then I know he'll be fine for the amount we're talking about.

I like the structure of the book with the first stage being 4-7 months, then 7-10 months etc. As he's now 6 months, I'm using the recipes still from the first stage but I don't need to blitz them up quite as much now.

A great buy and one I've recommended to loads of people!
