I eventually made my Anywhere Weather station work.
But it still only works patchily.
Oregon Scientific Technical support is a joke: an expensive premium-rate number staffed by manual-reading zombies.
The UV Sensor showed "Zero" all through January and February. Then when the sun came out on a bright day in March, it still said "0" (Not "--" which would indicate yet another communications failure).
Oregon Scientific said it was not their problem, and fortunately those nice people at Amazon (and the Sale of Goods Act) accepted it was theirs.
So that means Oregon Scientific expect this product to last for thirty days. After that: Tough.
The replacement works, but no thanks to Oregon Scientific.
Oregon Scientific has ignored EVERY email I have sent them.
Abysmal.

The first one of these I bought failed around the 10 month mark. It simply stopped transmitting anything back to the console (red light no longer lights every ~90 seconds either). I reset the unit, put in fresh batteries and it worked for another 24 hours before stopping again. After several repeated attempts to get it going again, I called Oregon Scientific (who I had purchased it from directly) and they sent me a replacement.

Behold, around 10 months later, and the replacement unit has also failed in exactly the same way as the first! Again I have reset the unit and installed fresh batteries. The unit worked for ~36 hours before it died again.

Unfortunately there seems to be no alternatives to this very poor quality item. Very disappointed with the quality from OS!!

I wish I had read these comments first before buying this sensor. I purchased one at Christmas 2013 and placed it on my roof terrace here in Spain. It sent UV readings to my Unit no problems and as it was winter the readings were low, but here we are in July in Spain where the local weather stations today said it was a UV reading of 10 but my unit never gets past 4 and having Googled this it seems it is a problem all over the world with this sensor. If yours works then you are lucky but there are a lot of unhappy customers who are not getting a proper reading with this sensor. Grrrr. had to give it a star just to write the review.

I bought about five of them and returned in last three months.
Mounted vertically as supposed to be , in sunny day, when the sky is clear and blue, shows incorrect reading. Too low, around 1-2.
