This is a replacement for the previous sensor that has become inaccurate after 5 years out in all weathers. It works well and I look forward to at least another 5 years

This item was purchased to replace a sensor that had failed. The old one had been working for a long time, so I hope the new one lasts as long.
Arrived a day after ordering, well packaged, and worked first time.

Bought this to supplement my unit so I now have two for a better average temp. Easy to fit and set up. Does exactly what it says on the tin.

These tend to fail after a year or two which is an irritation. I guess due to water ingress.

I've knocked up a plastic cover to protect it from rain but still allow reasonable movement of air.

I used a mouthwash bottle which is a nice size. Cut off the top 20% with a pair of scissors. Turn the bottle upside down and cable tie it to a fence. Drill a hole through the bottle and put a screw into the fence to mount the sensor.

Reliable sensor to mesure temperature. Only now and then in cold temperatures the sensor loses it's signal. Maybe some problems with condensating moisture?

Not much you can say about one of these, after all, they are usually positioned where you do not see them. This one replaces one I bought earlier than gave up on me after 6 months. No receipt to hand so had to buy it.So far so good.

OREGON SCIENTIFIC THGR 122 NX 3-channel Remote Sensor

Afraid these things just do not last - you could be lucky and have a trouble-free one but my last one has given up the ghost after three months (and that was a replacement) Great idea but I'm not sure whether the Oregon technology is robust enough for the job in hand - really frustrating!
