Wow!! 2 Feb 2008
What a buy!! As a serving soldier I brought this for operations and exercise, the footage so far has convinced the regiment to buy one (and the army is tight!! LOL) The only let down is the sound quality, but its easy enough to put a decent track to what footage you have taken. I'm taking this to Afghanistan this week and can't wait.

Well worth the money, what ever you intend on using it for. Easy to set up, and very user friendly when it comes to viewing files. A 1GB card will give you 53 mins at medium setting at 30fps. which is more than good enough! VERY HAPPY with cam and all the straps, so far have used on on my helmet and underslung on my rifle. If you want a cam to capture any exploit you may undertake, this is it (even tried it in the troop bar!!)

Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
I bought this for the water resistant properties. I use it for white water kayaking and have attached it to my helmet with one of the many accessories you get with it. It takes 1 hour high quality footage with a 2Gb SD card. The sound quality is very poor. You cant even make out your own voice even when its on you. It is at the point of being a silent movie. I really dont need it for the sound so thats not a problem. I did contact the manufacturer about this who advised me this is how it should be. The video quality is poor in dull light conditions. For the best quality video use it in a sunny day. I hit it off a rock once under water and it never even dented it. Still working and making excellent videos.

ATC-2K action camera 23 Jan 2007
I went on holiday during the Xmas break and it was snowing where I was. Obviously I came prepared with jacket, hat, gloves etc. I was a bit concerned about turning my ATC-2K cam on and off though. I didn't want to take my gloves off just to do that. Turned out fine though, I just listened for the beeping noise it makes for on and off. Also, the manual says to use a heat pouch it sells, or is planning on selling, in cold weather along with lithium batteries. At times the temp was below freezing and my cam worked fine without either! There was one time when it was a bit slow though so I took out the batts and held them in my hand for a minute to warm them up. It went back to its normal speed after that. It's a plug and play cam so no need to use a CD to install, just the USB cord. The video quality obviously isn't as good as a normal video camera but that's expected as it's designed for extreme sports. It's also a handy size, fits into my pocket easily and only needs 2 AA batts.

movie on water
This camera does all it says . My only criticism is that the volume level cannot be altered and is not sufficient to capture the action that is taking place.

Average video, poor sound

Average, but a bargain.
This unit is not bad, considering how cheap it is now. When attached to a motorcycle on a track day, the images are quite wobbly and the sound is pretty bad (especially at speed... Read more

take into consideration. its only a cmos camera, but still gr8 value...
this is a very usefull piece of kit even though its only a low res cmos camera, if it was a 1/3 ccd then it would be 10x more costly.
cmos means low res. Read more
