Product Description

CD Description

Pop icon Boy George is poised to release his first artist album in more than ten years. Following a non-stop, sell-out European tour with Night Of The Proms towards the end of 2010, one of the Worlds most recognizable figures is back on mainstream music s radar for good. Ordinary Alien is an accomplished collection of tracks featuring Boy George & Kinky Rolands faultless mod-pop production. As songwriters and all-round creative entities, Boy George and Kinky Roland have worked closely over the past fifteen years and Ordinary Alien is born out of this relationship the pair are renowned for their seemingly never-ending surplus of quality material. If Boy George isnt writing then he is simply not Boy George - moving into 2011 and in light of this huge body of work, Boy George is determined to be the recognized as the talented musician he is. Ordinary Alien is the rise of George again releasing fresh music to the World and chipping away at his craft as a writer, a singer, and a successful producer. Boy George has been working closely with Decode Records first releasing Amazing Grace in March 2010, moving onto working with Decode on the release of his own label. After spending years working with majors, George is happier working with an independent label as it gives infinite scope for personal creativity. Originating from Berlin, Kinky Roland has been producing top selling tracks and remixes with some of the biggest names in Dance Music Bananarama, S Express with Mark Moore, Roland Sebastian Faber (aube records), Mini Legend, Starcluster (with Keen K on aube records), Marc Almond, Mark Moore, Jonny Slut, Glen Gregory, Fran, Princess Julia, Gene Serene, John Taylor; and of course Boy George. Boy George first shot to international stardom in the 1980s as the front man of one of the UKs biggest exports - Culture Club. He has sold over 50 million albums and has had top 10 hits in every country. Singer, actor, DJ, artist, photographer, fashion designer, he has constantly reinvented himself and remains today one of the worlds most recognisable iconic figures.

loving it 3 Mar 2011
Format:Audio CD
i guess the thing about this album is it has really polarised opinions to love it or hate it for all kinds of reasons. theres a portion of georges old fans who want him to still wear plaits in his hair and sing karma chameloen and they will be dissapointed this is not a culture club album and come on guys give him a break its 30 years ago and hes an artist this is what he is into now. for me too old and knackered to go to clubs and stay up till all hours this is the kind of dance music i love and i was surprised as i havent really liked the lastest acoustic/rock stuff hes done. this is a beatifully crafted, written and mixed dance album for people like me who wanna put it on their ipod and get sent into a trancy haze on a treadmill and sing in their cars or for some young queen on a podium at 3am in a gay bar. of course the serious muso's reviews aint complimentary..and that really suprises me cause i think this is the coolest stuff george has put out for ages and he deserves some credit and a listen in my book. for me i think theres some muso snobbery going on....oo is he out of fashion in their book.. shame on then i havnt heard such a good dance album for a long time..nice one george

What a disappointment I'm sorry to say. I had heard the song 'Turn To Dust' on Boy George's website a couple of months ago and fell in love with the atmosphere and tune of the track, but here instead we get a collection of remixed tracks !!! Where can I find the original version of this song which is a million times better ? In the CD it says for each track,'song originally produced by Kevan Frost or John Themis', these are precisely the songs I'm desperately looking for. What a letdown when you expect hearing a specific song and then end up playing a bland pointless remix. Couldn't they keep these remixes for clubs? I wish they could release a 2-CD album with the second disc featuring the original ones.
