I borrowed this book and had to buy it - it's a dipper and I know I'll keep on returning to it. I can see the other reviewer's point of view - this is not a book for everyone, but for me, trying to find ways of expressing the intangible, to engage with writing in a way that avoids definition, certainty and which recognises the impact that the ordinary, the momentary, the fleeting can have on the way you are and what you become, it hit the mark. I would say it is great for those grappling with Delueze, Barthes or just for those engaging with that/those nagging feeling(s) that you can never quite put your finger on. I thought it was a joy to read.

profound, anecdotal, yet scientifically valuable. This book takes Geertz's proclamation of thick description literally.
