Simple, common-sense information and accomplished photography make this an excellent choice for the beginner or the advanced grower who doesnt like wading through too much detail. The index is well-labelled and the flow of contents intelligent. Whilst the book is aimed at a U.S. market (grower contacts are all states-based) dont let this put you off if you're in the U.K. Everything else is pertinent and just what you need to learm about these amazing plants without it costing you a pile of rotting failures onroute. All the various species and hybrids are described, together with relevent needs and preferences. If you've bought any kind of orchid or intend to do so, the tiny accompanying leaflet will not give you enough information to keep it in the best of health. You will need a reference work, and this book is a cheap and accurate starting point.
