I have a selection of orchids and after about two years of them growing by themselves (and overgrowing their original pots), I decided to replant some of them. I know the orchids are capricious plants, and I am thankful to the Orchid Focus mix for providing the nutritious compost, made specifically for orchids and caring for all their immediate needs upon replanting. After a couple of months, new buds started to grow.

When I was a complete novice I made a mistake of buying the standard compost and I learnt my mistake. The orchids survived, but I learnt my lesson. I do recommend you search online for tips on replanting and orchids care, although there is a bit of useful information on the pack. This 3L pack is just enough for two standard pots (and I had to use the compost from the original smaller pots where the orchids grew) - I have square pots which measure 8 x 8 inches.

Moreover, this compost will work with the wide variety of plants, such as cacti.

This product is absolutely perfect for its primary purpose, repotting that sad Phalaenopsis you got at your leaving do or from the relative who doesn't like you. It had the perfect mix of bark and smaller substrates, as well as nutrients to feed the symbiotic relationship between the green gunk on the aerial roots and the plant's stomach.

Personally, I use it as an ingredient in compost for pot-grown Lilium and other woodland species, where it opens up the mixture while providing a moisture retentive yet free-draining medium, cutting down on the use of peat in the process. Great stuff! I just need bigger bags!

The Orchid Focus, the repotting mix was double wrapped in order to avoid any damage to the packaging and any loss of the mix. The mix quality was good and the instructions on the packaging easy to follow.[[ASIN:B00453AT1I Orchid Focus Repotting Mix 3Litre]

I own 10 orchid plants, including a couple of sorry looking blue Vanda plants. I've re-potted all of my orchids using this compost, and they're all doing well, except for the Vanda, which seem determined not to flower. I've found, through a process of experimentation, that my orchids didn't do too well using high quality ordinary compost, and they didn't do much better using exclusively orchid compost, whether composed largely of bark or not. However, when've I've planted my orchids in a mixture of 50% orchid compost (like this one), and 50% quality ordinary compost, they are much happier, regularly making new stems, and flowering each year, sometimes the flowers can last for months not just weeks. So, the secret (with my orchids anyway!) is to give them a 50/50 mix of orchid compost and ordinary compost, water the compost once a fortnight with an orchid feed, and on the intervening weeks, spray the leaves with water and liquid orchid feed. Seems to work on all my orchids except the stubbornly forlorn Vanda!

Repotted some of my orchids somewhat hesitantly but needn't have worried they all seem to be doing well in new pots with this compost.

I bought two bags for my epiphytic cacti after a talk I attended on the subject. They are doing very well in it as it closely resembles what they naturally grow in. One of the bags had too many large lumps of bark but a quick whizz in a coffe blender soon sorted that out. The plant I bought at the talk has really taken off after planting it in a hanging pot. It is really happy in this medium. Pity is only comes in small bags but I have enough in two bags for my purposes at the moment. Amazon reviews led me to select this brand and I am very happy with it.

My orchid has suffered a bit in recent years and I knew it needed to be repotted. The bag comes with instructions on how to repot your orchid on the back. The material is easy to use. Best of all, my orchid, which had been looking a bit despondent, now looks very happy and lush. And there was more than enough for my one little plant so I have enough for next time, or if I'm brave, to invest in another orchid!

I love orchids and have several on my windowsills. They were getting really potbound and one in particular was looking really sorry for itself. I bought the Orchid Focus and following the directions repotted it and now it looks much happier in a larger pot and has sent up some new shoots. Brilliant - I'm going to gradually repot all the others now! Great product.
