This is a game of chance - essentially you draw cards at random using a spinner, add them to your launch pad and at the end the person with the most loops in their rocket trail wins. The pieces are good quality and our space-mad three year old wants to play this a lot.

However, there is a silly rule that if you draw the rocket of your colour after the first round, then you go out. This obviously doesn't make for a very good game for such young children who are still getting used to the concept of games and for a game of chance, going out randomly just seems daft. So we just put the rockets aside when we draw them and put them on at the end. There is also a point at the end of the game where only one or two types of card are left and you have to keep spinning the spinning until somebody gets the right type - which isn't a great ending for the game. The pieces are great, but feel like some more work could have been done by Orchard Toys on the rules and that it hadn't really been playtested.

My other slight issue is that our son now things that rocket trails always have loops in them, which obviously isn't true!

This was bought for my son's 3rd birthday and is a firm favourite with us all. It's a game where all ages have an equal chance of winning, which goes down well with the kids! It's cute to see him spin the rocket and shout out what it lands on "Saturn" "Earth" "Alien Spaceship" etc! Bit of fun also when a certain card is picked up, as you have to shout "space shuffle" and mix all the cards up again (great excitement!) It's not too long too!

I bought this for my 5 year old who loves his other Orchard Toys games, but he got bored very quickly. It is so simplistic I would say it would be suitable from age 3. If you want a game to help with improving maths for school age children Magic Cauldron is much better. Disappointed.

A friend gave this to my son (3 yrs old) just before we went on a two week holiday. As soon as we brought it out it was a great hit, he played it every day, simple enough to easily pick up but also good for learning matching, counting and turn taking as well as the concept of playing by the rules. Even since we came home he still asks for it almost every day. We've played it with his friends and cousins too, older and also a bit younger and all have enjoyed playing.

My sons are 4.5 and 2.5yrs old and they absolutely love this game! Easy to understand, fun to play, helps with counting, overall a great purchase and price was excellent. Definitely recommend this. It's a very small box and light so could easily be taken away on a short break or holiday too.

Super, tactile card/board game that the kids love. Well produced and printed on good thick, stiff card. This one will be a favourite for a good while.
Lots of learning lessons & skills inbuilt in the game play that encourage kids through fun. Highly recommended.

Great fun for my 3 year old. He understands the concept & although there is occasional bending of the rules, that doesn't matter as he enjoys it so much. Plus counting the loop the loops helps with his numbers. We have a few orchard games now & they're all excellent.
