Product Description

Product Description

Come on everyone, the party's started. A great party game for girls who like to dress up and have fun. The aim of the game is to fill your handbag with five party accessories and a present, ready for arriving at the party at the centre of the board. All the picture cards are spread out, face upwards, on the table. Each player chooses a character and a handbag, and uses the die to make their way around the board. If they land on a space showing a present or party accessory, they can pick up the matching card and put it in their handbag. But some of the spaces on the board may cause them to lose an item from their bag, choose another card to pick up, or even to phone another player to make them lose one of their cards. Once a player has a present and 5 accessory cards in their bag, they can make their way to the party to win the game. This is an award-winning 'girlie' game, particularly popular at sleepovers, and can be played with 2 to 4 players. It is suitable for ages 5 to 9, and children will have such fun playing it, they won't realize that they are adding to their maths skills at the same time (there is an educational guide printed on the box).

I absolutely love playing games with my 5-year old daughter, although sometimes I struggle to really connect when she is wanting to play princesses! As per poor old dad, my imagination just isn't used to this sort of thinking!! Imagine my thoughts when she got this game - each player gets a handbag, and you go round the board looking for accessories and presents before you can go to a party. Sometimes you can "drop" your handbag spilling the contents - new experience that for me.... However my daughter loves this game, and I couldn't even imagine how many times I have played this. Its perhaps not as "educational" as some of the other Orchard Toys, but this is just good fun. Her pals love to play with this one too.

All in all, has to be the thumbs up all round. Even from her Dad!

My daughter is six. When she was younger I used to play a number of Orchard Toys' games with her: 'Pop to the Shops' and 'Ladybirds' spring to mind. 'Party Party Party' is for 5- to 9-year-olds, which seems about right although I'm not sure 9-y.o.s would be interested. The aim of the game is to go round the board collecting accessories and presents in a handbag, and then, when the required number of items have been collected, to get to the 'party' in the centre of the board. Other players can force their opponents to empty their handbags, though.

Like all Orchard Toys' products, it's well made and well thought-out. Maybe it's not as educational as the games I mentioned in the first line, but there's more strategy involved and there are more things to think about. I have yet to find a poor game from Orchard Toys. I would definitely recommend this one.

Ordered as christmas present for daughter, however you do need 4 players to play the game at the same time to make it last longer, otherwise you'll be resetting it after 15 minutes.
Rules are simple to understand and setting up doesn't take that long.

We have all enjoyed playing this - from my four-year-old who chose it herself because of the pink box to her Dad. Would say the suggested age range is a little high - 4-7 perhaps... It isn't designed to be particularly educational but encourages imaginative play. My daughter enjoyed acting out the party with the dolls at the end.

My daughter was given this for her 5th birthday and it is brilliant fun. Not, perhaps, particularly educational but both my children (5 and 3.5) love playing it (and actually I do too). The premise is that you're on your way to a party and have to collect a present and 5 accessories on your way. If you "drop" your bag by landing on one of the 4 dropped-bag squares then you lose one of your items. The first person to collect all the items and get to the party wins. Each of the accessory cards is fun and my (very girlie) daughter loves finding the sunglasses or lipstick or glittery pencil cards.... I highly recommend this for some family fun and girlie indulgence without spending more money!

My two children love this game as it is a lot of fun, great images, simple enough that my 5 yr old can play just as well as my 7 yr old. This is game is won on luck not skill so good for mixed age groups. Also, relies mainly on imagery of the game pieces rather than written play cards so easier for younger children to participate and play "on their own" as only a little simple counting is required.
Only draw back is that the "handbags" are made from very flimsy card and can easily get damaged/squashed/come apart. Definitely one for gentle play and keeping away from younger children.

Bought this for Christmas for my 7 year old grand daughter. She and her mum and little brother love it and are still playing three times a day. I had a go and it even kept my interest and I'm her Grand Dad!
