This exciting game takes you in a jeep through the African savannah, as you try to find as many animals as you can. The 40 animal cards are placed face down next to the viewing points around the board, and players throw 2 dice to determine how many spaces to move. Players can choose whether to move the number of spaces shown on both dice, or whether to move the number of spaces just indicated on one of the die. The aim is to land on a viewing point, where you can collect an animal card to add to your collection. However, each die shows a pair of binoculars on one side, and if this appears when a player rolls the die, that player can zoom in and take an animal card from another player. Once all the players have finished their safari and reached the camp, the player who has collected the most animals is the winner. This game involves a certain amount of strategy, as players can decide whether it would benefit them to move the amount of spaces shown on one or both dice. The advanced gameplay instructions suggest a different option for older children which makes the game even more strategic. As well as helping with maths skills and lateral thinking, children can have fun talking about the animals in the game and making animal noises. Suitable for 2 to 4 players aged 5 years and over.

My son got this present for his 5th birthday and loves it. I've played it with him several times this week and it's fun for the adults too. It encourages numeracy by having two dice. You roll both and decide whether to move your jeep along by the grand total of both dice or just by the total on one of your dice in order to land on one of the viewing platforms and get another animal card. The winner is the person who has collected the most animals, and some of the cards have 2 or 3 animals on which provides more counting practice. Plus if you roll a pair of binoculars on the dice you can take one of your opponent's cards from them - more numeracy and tactics, and learning to accept having some of your animals taken away from you! For older children there are extra rules you can use.

I really like this game. I'm 45 but my daughter is 6! It's a fun game and the best part is that you have two dice and you can choose to add, subtract or use just one of the scores in order to move the most optimal number of spaces. Has improved my daughter's basic maths skills. I've just bought a second one as a birthday present for my daughter's friend's 6th birthday.

This game is such fun. My 4 year old loves playing it. It's a quick game so holds the child's interest and is easy to understand for both parent and child. Orchard toys are great. This is our third purchase from their selection and we will be buying more!
