Learn to count with these friendly spotty dogs. All the 24 cards are laid out on the table, with the dog sides showing. Players take it in turn to spin the spinner, which will point to a numeric number. The player then has to pick a card from the table that shows a dog with the same number of spots as the number on the spinner. When the card is turned over, the player can see how many biscuit bones the dog had hidden in his basket. The winner is the player who has the highest number of bones when all the dog cards have been collected. This is an easy game to play, combining number recognition and counting skills in a simple, fun game. It also teaches patience as sometimes there are no dogs left with the right number of spots, so players have to wait for their next turn before they can collect any more bones. Children can also be encouraged to count everyone else's bones at the end of the game, or even the number of spots on everybody's dogs to encourage maths skills. This award-winning, best-selling game is made with sturdy, recycled board, and has a wipe-clean surface. The illustrations are bright and cheerful, and the game is quick to play, so children won't get bored. It is suitable for children age 3 to 6, and for 2 to 4 players.

I am a reception teacher (ages 4-5) and the children in my class LOVE this game! The element of surprise when they turn the cards over to reveal the bones is brilliant! I shall be buying lots more orchard toys for my class!

Spin the dial to pick up card of a dog with 1 - 6 spots on it (teaches visual recognition). Towards the end of game, there is often no card with the number of spots spun on the dial (teaches child patience until their number is spun). Back of card has 0 - 3 bones. Winner is the one with the most bones when all cards picked up (teaches counting over 10).
Very similar to the Orchard Toys Ladybird game.

I bought this game for my grandchildren aged three years. It aids their counting skills and is bright enough to attract their attention and keep them amused. When the dog selected had no bones in his basket this upset one of my grandchildren until I explained the bones were so tasty the dog must have eaten them all. A good educational fun game. I have several Orchard games and puzzles and they are brilliant!
