Product Description

Product Description

Can you be the first to recycle all ten of your green bottles? This very simple game, based on the popular song, helps children with number recognition while having fun. The game can be played with 2 to 4 players, and is suitable for players aged between 3 and 6. Each player makes up their jigged wall board, and places their green bottles, numbered 1 to 10, across the top. The 40 spotty cards are placed face down in the centre of the table, and the first player starts by turning up one of the spotty cards. If the number of spots on the card matches the number shown on one of the bottles on the player's wall, the player takes both cards and posts them into the bottle bank. If the card shows a number that the player has already posted, the card is put back on the table. When a player matches the last bottle on their wall with a spotty card, they win the game and sing "There are no green bottles standing on the wall". This game helps children with their number skills, as they have to count the spots on the card and connect the card with the correct numeral printed on the bottle. You could add play value by using either the spotty cards or the bottles to play 'Pairs', and you can ask children to add the numbers on the bottles or the spotty cards together.

Product Description

If one green bottle should accidentally fall.... Be the first to match your ten green bottle cards with ten dotty numbered cards to win this fun bottle recycling game For ages 3-6

Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
My Daughter has just turned 3 & I had been searching for a while for a game suitable for her age, as the likes of snakes & ladders etc would be a bit old for her & take quite a while to complete! This Bottles game is ideal for her age. Basically you turn a card to reveal dice like cards with dots, take that numbered bottle from your wall ... once all the bottles have gone from your wall youre the winner & you both sing "no green bottles sitting on my wall" (you dont have to sing, but my little girl loves to & how can I not join in!!) It teaches your child to count & also to collect the correct numbered bottle to put into the 'bottle bank'. Its a good game if you are short of time too, along with the Insey Winsey Spider game - that can be very short if you spin the sun each time on the weather dial!

Once she had played this game she wanted more, more, more games! So I got her some more. If you have a 3 year old who is really getting interested in games, I would recommend the following ones that we have (as we play them over & over again most days!) - Insey Winsey Spider, The Game of Ladybirds, Buckaroo, Monkey Business, Wee Little Piggies, Winnie the Pooh Tip & Topple Game and Leap Frogs - Leap Frogs makes a change to the normal games - you have a frog trampoline about 12" long & you have to put number mats around it on the floor, then throw 4 frog bean bags onto the trampoline & see what number it bounces back onto etc. Children seem to love it, as its a bit different having frogs flying through the air!

There are lots of games out there, just takes a while to find the right ones!

We love Orchard board games in our house! I brought Ten green bottles for my daughter and it soon turned into one of her favourites!
It's bright, Sturdy and makes little ones think. Once you have your 10 bottles on your wall you take turns picking up board squares with numbers 1 - 10 in dot form. You count your dots and if you have a bottle with the same number (in number form)on the wall then you post it into the bottle bank. The first to get rid of all their bottles wins! It's great because little ones have to recognise numbers eg 2 and .. (2 in dot form).
My daughter who has just turned 3 now recognises the amount in dot form very quickly thanks to this game so has now started playing proper dominoes etc with ease.
I have always found orchard games to be well made, fun and have a great educational value. Whether they are learning their shapes, colours, numbers or memory games.
All in all a great game and a great buy. Ours is a well used favourite and my girl loves it!

Great game! 6 May 2011

Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
I bought this game for my son's third birthday and like all orchard games he loves it!!
He knew his numbers up to ten at 18months so the only challenge was recognising the numbers in dice formation which he caught up on quite quickly so now knows how many are dots are on the dice when playing other games!
Is great fun play it for hours!!
