My Daughter has just turned 3 & I had been searching for a while for a game suitable for her age, as the likes of snakes & ladders etc would be a bit old for her & take quite a while to complete! This Bottles game is ideal for her age. Basically you turn a card to reveal dice like cards with dots, take that numbered bottle from your wall ... once all the bottles have gone from your wall youre the winner & you both sing "no green bottles sitting on my wall" (you dont have to sing, but my little girl loves to & how can I not join in!!) It teaches your child to count & also to collect the correct numbered bottle to put into the 'bottle bank'. Its a good game if you are short of time too, along with the Insey Winsey Spider game - that can be very short if you spin the sun each time on the weather dial!
Once she had played this game she wanted more, more, more games! So I got her some more. If you have a 3 year old who is really getting interested in games, I would recommend the following ones that we have (as we play them over & over again most days!) - Insey Winsey Spider, The Game of Ladybirds, Buckaroo, Monkey Business, Wee Little Piggies, Winnie the Pooh Tip & Topple Game and Leap Frogs - Leap Frogs makes a change to the normal games - you have a frog trampoline about 12" long & you have to put number mats around it on the floor, then throw 4 frog bean bags onto the trampoline & see what number it bounces back onto etc. Children seem to love it, as its a bit different having frogs flying through the air!
There are lots of games out there, just takes a while to find the right ones!
