There are 30 large, chunky pieces, making it perfect for small fingers. An educational guide on the box shows how the puzzle complements your child's education. There are many ways to add to the play value of the puzzle both before it is put together and once it has been completed. Before you start, you can ask your child to find a piece with the number 3 on, or a piece with a red and yellow snake on. When completed, as well as counting the number of animals in each group, you can ask which creatures can fly, which ones have beaks, what noises they make. This award-winning puzzle can help with maths and literacy skills, and comes with a matching poster. It is suitable particularly for children aged from 3 to 6, but even younger children will enjoy looking at the friendly animals.

My two year-old son adores this puzzle. As with all Orchard puzzles there is a lot going on so the pieces are easily differentiated. My son loves counting all the different animals and putting the numbers in order up the tree. It has been a great way for him to become familiar with written numbers and the order they go in. The pieces are large and easy for small hands to put in place and it comes with a poster which is a bonus.

I was looking for a puzzle that would act as a learning aid and was the right thickness for a child of two, and found this puzzle to be great. I have purchased other Orchard puzzles as a result and none of them disappointed me or my child.

Excellent jigsaw!
