Product Description

Product Description

The Crazy Chefs are in the kitchen and they have lots of delicious food to prepare. There are five tasty dishes on the menu - pizza, kebabs, shepherd's pie, stir-fried noodles and iced cupcakes. But the Crazy Chefs need lots of help collecting the utensils and ingredients they'll need before they can start cooking. Players start by turning over cards, trying to find all the things they need to prepare their meal. Once they have collected everything on their game board, they spin the spinner to try to get a plate. Once they have their plate, they need to 'cook' their meal by spinning the spinner again until it points to a child sitting at a table. The winner is the first player to get everything they need for their meal and to 'cook' it. This very popular, best-selling game encourages children to talk about food and food preparation, and is linked to science and PSHE in the National Curriculum (there is an educational guide printed on the box). You could add to the play value by asking your child about some of the ingredients and utensils in the game: find me a picture of some prawns; can you see a picture of a spatula? It encourages social skills, and it may even encourage some extra helping hands in the kitchen. This game is for 2 to 5 players, aged 3 to 7, and is made of durable, wipe-clean recycled board.

Product Description

Join the chefs in the crazy kitchen and collect everything they need to make a meal. Then grab your plate and wait for your dish to cook. Will you be the first to serve up a tasty treat? A fun lotto game with a food theme. Links with Early Learning Goals in personal, social and emotional development. Includes: 5 chef boards, 5 plate cards, 5 meal cards, 35 ingredient and utensil cards, spinner and instruction leaflet.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for Food Phobic but Curious 4 Year Old 31 Aug 2009

Durability: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I think I may be developing an undying gratitude to the people at Orchard Toys. Their products are clearly huge fun for children (hence the 5 stars, even though the repeated requests to play with a 4yr old do leave me doubting my vote). OT's products are Orchard Toys Crazy Chefsdurable, entertaining and (gasp) educational, although they don't appear to be thanks to the product design.
The only downside is that my daughter loves this game so much it is almost becoming dull, especially as there's only so much conversation one can have with a 4yr old and her teddies. But she's more interested in what's going into a meal and we made kebabs just like in the game and she ate them!!!
So I can't praise Orchard Toys enough - big thumbs up!

5.0 out of 5 stars BARGAIN 7 Jan 2010

Durability: 4.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 4.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This is the fourth Orchard Toys game I have purchased and they have all been durable and enjoyable. The game is easy to follow and my 4 year old loves it. She always wants to make the fairy cakes. This game is however very similar to the shopping list game, so may not be worth buying both.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great fun for all! 21 Jun 2009
Durability: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
My kids are 4 and 2 and I bought this game because they played it at a friend's house and both loved it. It's a memory game, but also teaches about recipes and cooking ingrdients (my 4-year old daughter now has an understanding of the basic ingredients that could go in certain dishes). My two-year old son now has a better understanding of matching pictures and taking turns. We play it very regularly and I'll definitely buy some more Orchard games in the future

Children like this game. It's good fun. Lots of pieces. Quite difficult to fit all the pieces back into the box as the box is rather small.
