    5.0 out of 5 stars Oral-B Triumph standard 21 April 2007
    By Paul
I bought this purely as it was on offer and my old Philips Sonicare was on its last legs. Medically speaking i'm sure they are all as good as each other but the thing that stands out is how the Oral-B really attacks your teeth and leaves them feeling thoroughly clean whereas the Sonicare just sits there humming quietly to itself. The second thing you'll notice is the cost of refills. It was getting tedius shelling out for the Sonicare refills and happily these are less than half the price.

As to the build of the thing, the stand is quite a nice little contraption with an enclosed box for spare brush heads and its easy to clean so wont get covered in gunk like the Sonicare did. I was slightly unsure how useful an LCD screen could ever be on a toothbrush, but it certainly doesnt detract from the brush and just serves to make your life a little easier by telling you how long you've been brushing, how much charge is in the battery etc.

It's as much a matter of cost and personal preference when choosing this or a Sonicare, but personally speaking when its time for replacement i think this brush has convinced me to stay with Oral-B. It's just that little bit better

5.0 out of 5 stars An Investment! 14 Nov 2006
    By Murray VINE VOICE
I do not usually spend this sort of cash on something like an electric toothbrush. However, after a few expensive trips to the dentist, I was recommended this one by a friend and flashed the cash! Take my word for this, it is worth EVERY penny! It comes with 2 different brush heads, one with a floss like action that gets in between the gaps of your teeth and another with a polishing action. The toothbrush itself has 4 settings: hard brushing, soft brushing, polishing and gum massage. Each one is designed to offer you something greater than just a quick clean. Also, it comes with an lcd screen which tells you your battery life, how long you've been brushing for and, gives you a smiley face once you've brushed for ling enough - brilliant! The charging station is a really nice touch and the whole thing looks and feels like a really premium product. Well worth the expenditure. With Xmas coming up I reckon this could be a great gift for a loved one! Highly recommended.

Firstly, you must use this brush very differently to a manual toothbrush. Think floor polisher and not vacuum cleaner. Move slowly and deliberately over each tooth. Make sure you get the brsitles between the tooth and gums. Also change the heads frequently, I find mine last as little as 3 weeks before losing optimum effectiveness. If the bristles are buckled or bent, then they're not working nearly as well as they should.

So why is it the perfect brush? Well a small round head can get to all parts of the mouth. Both the Cochrane Review and Bandolier (both hugely respected independent UK research organisations) have checked multiple studies and found ONLY a rotating oscillating brush is significantly better than a manual toothbrush - i.e. a brush like this.

Also, these brushes have bristles that are longer in just the right parts to clean between gums and have sensors to stop you overloading any part of your mouth.

The cheaper Oral-Bs: Vitality Sensitive Clean, Pro Care 5000, Pro Care 7000, Pro Care 8500 - all feature the same basic round head and simple bristles that are tried and tested. Just make sure you get one of these for your teeth!

5.0 out of 5 stars Gum changing! 27 Sep 2009
I bought my Braun toothbrush after a less than encouraging trip to my Dentist. I was warned that my gums were not in the best of condition and it would be appropriate to work on them if I didn't wish to endanger the life of my teeth. After a few weeks I returned to my Dentist who commented that, although she didn't know what I was doing differently, whatever it was, to please keep on with it as I had achieved very good results. That was entirely due to my new Braun. It has two speeds for cleaning plus a gum massage action very easy to handle while brushing. The brush consists of bristle and and small plates which get between the teeth more easily to counter plaque. Once recharged it will last two to three weeks before needing to be recharged again. I should not want to be without it and thoroughly recommend it.

    5.0 out of 5 stars Very Good Purchase/Investment 3 Jun 2009
I absolutely hate the dentist and decided to splash out on this toothbrush because of all the good reviews. They were not kidding!!:-)
I love the feel of my teeth after brushing (Pretty much like you have had them cleaned professionally) and they are looking whiter now as I used to smoke. Plus the timer stops me from rushing and cutting short the clean.
I would recommend this to anyone. The actual brush feels well made and robust plus the added bonus of a solid travel case to protect it when you go away.

    5.0 out of 5 stars Braun Oral-B Triumph 9500 electric toothbrush 18 Nov 2009

    Verified Purchase
Excellent. Really feel as though your teeth get a good clean. Have tried other electric toothbrushes but this one beats the lot. Recharge last a whole week and that is with my husband and I using the same holder (but obviously different brushes). Would definitely recommend. Prices differ so much and Amazon came tops. No one could touch their price. Hope this helps.

This made a young boy feel so special that his tooth cleaning increased and a new habit was formed. He will now not go for sleepovers without it.
