Misfits, mystics, seekers, and wanderers alike will delve into the 45 beautifully illustrated cards, each with its own guiding message. Within the wide-eyed wonder of Oracle of Shadows and Light, you'll meet honest, delightful, fascinating beings, from guardian angels and protective fairies to wise little witches and sweet ghosts. 5.0 out of 5 stars oracle news 5 May 2011
Format:Paperback
i had my eyes on these cards for a while and as an avid collector of oracle cards decided to indulge in a pack. i was not disappointed and pleased to say they are one of my favourite packs. the box is rather large but be advised that the cards arent as big as the box so alot easier to shuffle. there is a book included with the cards, it is crammed with information and insight how to use the cards for readings for yourself and others.

the artwork is fantastic and the cards of good quality. but the reason why i adore these cards so much is that they are not airy fairy cards based on only the light, hence the title of the cards. they are based on real human feelings and situations down to the nitty gritty, and resonate with situations you may find yourself at different points in your life.

they are advice cards, not fortune telling cards and believe me they give fantastic advice. i have only had these cards for a few days and already done some great readings for friends who have found inspiration, help and comfort from these cards.

i am so pleased i bought these cards by lucy cavendish. they might be a little more expensive than some of the other oracle cards on offer but for a realistic overview of a current situation you may wish to enquire about i think they are well worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Oracle of Shadows and Light - Book and Cards 12 Feb 2011

I bought these oracle cards for my neice and she loved them, as did my sister and myself.

They are the most beautiful oracle cards I have ever seen, and I own several sets of oracle and tarot cards.

I have most of the Doreen Virtue oracle cards, which are lovely, but these cards are even more gorgeous.

You won't be disappointed if you purchase these cards, for they are unique and different to the norm.

I am going to buy a set of these cards, as is my sister after seeing them.

A truly beautiful deck which I am proud to own. After purchasing this deck I have become a Jasmine Beckett-Griffith fan, her artwork is amazing.

Of course, Lucy Cavendish is amazing in her own right and has created an oracle deck that is truly unique, breathtaking and very 'user friendly'. The guidebook is excellent. The whole package would make an amazing gift.

A review for the Shapeshifter deck written and illustrated by the same duo encouraged me to seek the differences in the decks before I purchased and I came across an extremely useful and detailed comparison between the US and Australian decks on YouTube (just do a search for it as Amazon won't include the link in this review).

After watching this review the differences between the decks are not vast to be honest and in fact there are very few real differences. I find I prefer the US version but that is personal choice. Yes, the US version is targeted to a more teenage audience in the vocabulary that is used within the guidebook but it makes no difference to the deck itself, other than the replacement of one card in particular which would not be suitable for a younger audience as it refers to alcohol.

Overall this deck is beautiful, whichever version you purchase and getting hold of the Australian version is difficult and very costly so personally I encourage you to follow your own heart (or wallet) on this matter.
