5.0 out of 5 stars Well written guide by experienced authors. 29 Jan 2010
Format:Paperback
This book has chapters on the key technological components of the Oracle EBS suite and covers the differences between R11i and R12. Many of these chapters warrant a book in their own right but the authors do well to summarise the main points while keeping the size, and hence cost, of the book within reach. While it is ostensibly aimed at those with (or hoping to have) a development background there is much in the book that would be of use to Oracle Apps DBAs or anyone else who might be involved in supporting or using the product. There are some minor points I would quibble with (eg the authors state that a full table scan should be avoided
for tables of more than 10 rows whereas I would argue it is more complex than that) but these don't detract from the fact that this
book will give anyone a solid grounding in the technology behind the EBS product .

4.0 out of 5 stars Good overview, explaining all the possibilities 24 Jan 2010
Format:Paperback
What I have liked most about this book is that it gives me a complete overview of the possibilities you can explore when you want to extend and customize Oracle EBS R12. For me being a functional consultant, this is of particular use because it gives me a step ahead when having to talk to my technical counterparts.

Next to this, the book also gives me an insight in the extensions I can do myself, without technical help, e.g. create new BI publisher reports. Based upon the clear and simple examples in the book, I immediately got started and created my first report in less than no time!
