All exam topics are covered, architecture descriptions excellent. Very nice exercises, do them a few times and make up some variations, and you pass no problem.
I'm knocking off a star because the section on ASM is out of date: it was written for 11.1, and 11.2 is different. But the exam doesn't have any questions that refer to 11.2, so it is OK - just a waste of time studying something that isn;t examined.

I found the information in this book was very well put together with clear explainations and detailed examples, enough to cover a sweep of configurations. If you want to pass the exam however I would recommend an installing a test database to play around with the examples in the book and some extra reading to beef up the information (online manuals, examples and forums).

Don't bother buying the book, it's a waste of money. I just finished the OCA course and none of the questions in the exams were in the book. There this sentence on page 2 "McGawr-Hill is an independent company from Oracle Corp", I thought this was an official Oracle book, supported by Oracle to help you study and pass the the OCA/OCP exam, so I expected a reasonably close wording, syntax, question style between the test exams and the real ones. It turns out it wasn't the case, at all !
