I first read about this player in an issue of Computeractive as it came out best reviewed out of a range of players including ones priced at more than double of the oracom. That version was the 128mb which I felt was a little too small in terms of capacity for mp3s. Thankfully I found the 256 version at amazon.
I am regularly transferring files between computers which many larger files need to be written to CD-RW, a slow process which can be annoying. I also have a large collection of mp3s that I can only listen to when I am on my computer. Very frustrating.
Then I read the article in computeractive (great mag) which highlighted the perfect product to me. I was looking for a relatively cheap but quality player that could hold a suitable amount of mp3s and could be used for a small USB drive. The oracom 256mb provided all of this.
I finally got it yesterday (for my b-day) and I am very very pleased. It has many pros:

-extremely lightweight
-looks very attractive and modern
-no driver needed for XP, just 'drag and drop' straight away onto it
-navigation through options take no time to master
-logo editor included, design your own logo using piccys you have aswell, which is a great extra for personalising the player
-earphones included are surprisingly pretty good aswell
-sound output is superb
-options such as equaliser and voice recordings are also included - amazing in such a small product
-small as a lighter
-strap included to make sure you never drop it
-just one AAA bactery needed, Ive already listened to about 5 hours worth of music and its still showing full bar
-so easy to use
-its cheap but top quality!!!

Verified Purchase
Fantastic!!! I bought this MP3 player about a month ago after weeks of consideration i'm now i'm sure i made the right choice. I hate having to read reviews that aren't particularly helpful so i'm determined to make mine better.
Easy to use
Reasonably clear manual
Transfer music from computer to player in seconds
Clear sound (true it whistles slightly but only when backlight is on)
Customisation- Text scroll speed
Backlight lentgh
Useful Neck Strap
Voise recorder (surprisingly good sound quality when kept still)
256MB stores just under 70 songs, downloaded at 128 Mb quality
Repeat, A-B repeat and shuffle
EQ customisation (bass, treble)
High definition LCD screen
Battery lasts surprisingly long time for its size (1x AAA)
When low battery warning appears you can't record or use backlight.
Low battery warning shows up uneccessarily early (lasts about 3 hours after)
Could do with battery recharge facility.
Shuffle function seems to bring up a lot of the same songs repeatedly.
No hold button though buttons are fairly solid
Previous model has facility to change song tempo, this is also mentioned on box but does not actually exist.
Radio would be good but for the price and the memory supplied WHO CARES!!!

Hope this was useful for all those considering this MP3 player. It definitely gets my thumbs up! Best bargain on the market!

I have now been using this for a month and it more or less does exactly what I wanted, i.e give me a means of having music to play without lugging a full size player around. It is the size and weight of a cigarette lighter. It comes with a neck strap and if you wear it around your neck it is so light you are quickly unaware it's there.
For me the choice was i-pod with loads of capacity or something like this player which won on size but lost on capacity. I am happy with my choice. The 256mb player holds about 8 CD's worth of music and transfer is easy: if like me you have windows media player it is simply a case of plugging the MP3 player into the computer with the USB cable provided and then highlighting the tracks you want to transfer (in the my computer / my music explorer section) and then copying them to the player ~ takes about a minute a CD. It is also easy to add and remove extra tracks / CD's to keep the selection 'fresh'.
Batteries last about 8 hours I think, but I suggest you get the rechargeable ones and therefore not worry about this. (Also good because it takes such small batteries that you can carry a spare around without any trouble)
Couple of minor moans: the manual supplied is very thin on detail and you have to work out some operations by trial and error, (e.g. for the equalizer it says "User can set the equalizer with User choice"..doesn't tell you how) and secondly the engraved symbols on the (small) buttons aren't picked out in another colour so when you want to use the buttons I find myself having to pull the unit up to within a few inches of my face to work out what to do next.
If you want a small player, decent enough sound and to carry 8 CD's worth of music I would give it a go; (spend the extra on getting the 256mb)
