I have been a fan of Dillinger for some years now, and they have matured and progressed so much over the years that its almost like listening to a different band at times, in fact it virtually is considering they have had got through more members than Hugh Hefner has playmates.
Option Paralysis has something for every Dillinger fan, it has the mentality of calculating infinity, the tightness of Miss machine, and the ballad/melodies from Ire works, and it has all been blended into this beast of an album.
The Album kicks in with Farewell, Mona Lisa, an exceptional track, definitely one of my favorites through out the album, and each song is completely different to the next which is one reason i Love this CD. Back in Dillinger's early days, even though they were an amazing band with such a unique sound a lot of their songs blended together into one mental noise. Yeah it was great, dont get me wrong, but it was too repetitive. Now they have formed into this mature, deep song writing band with riffs, shreds, blasts and slaps like you've never known. Some people may feel they have tried to be more mainstream, I personally disagree. I feel they have simply matured and moved into a very deep setting of song writing and passion for what they do. Overall it reminds me most of Ire Works, only so much better and much more precisely constructed and mastered.
Dillinger fans, and people who are new to the band should absolutely buy this album because I personally feel it to be their best one yet. Although I must admit it seems a bit on the short side, just a couple more tracks would have really perfected it.
Excellent album, great sound, unique and different. I love it.
