Now you can take close-up shots like you never took before. Opteka proudly presents the next HD10X macro lens. Originally designed for dentists and medical use, the HD10X is now available to the public. Unlike current single element lenses, the HD10X has 4 elements of high definition optical glass that provides unbelievable detail. Cameras fitted with normal lenses do not permit us to move closer than a certain minimum distance from the object being photographed. The Close-Up lens, which is simply mounted in the front of our normal taking lens, permits the taking of close-ups and also makes possible the photography of details which would be quite impossible without using the Close-Up lens. The easy to use solution for getting extra close. These lenses enable you to get much closer than the minimum focus of the standard camera lens - as close as 4 inches from the subject. Ideal for cataloging small items and focusing on details.

The product is really well made, and screws into the standard 18-55mm kit lens on my Nikon D60. I've taken a few test shots and I'm very impressed with the quality - it's a great way to get into macro photography, very inexpensively.
What a great company too! 47th Street Photo, although based in the US, outdid a UK company on delivery! By at least 2 days (still not received the other product yet.) Plus the lens came with free gifts - a lens cleaning kit, some plastic covers for your D-SLR's screen, and a miniature tripod.
Now I'm off to go take some shots..

Does what it says on the pack. If you are like me and are still finding your way around photography - landscapes or close-ups,for example- then this an inexpensive way to get close ups on your macro work.

Ordered this item & it was with me within 4 working days (& that was from the states wow !!) Excellent quality & simple to fit, so I put it to use straight away on my D60 & the results are brilliant.This was an inexpensive way to get great close up pictures, buy one now, you will not be disappointed.Comes with 3 free rear screen protectors,cleaning fluid,lens cleaning cloth & mini tripod (tripod not suitable for DSLR's)

Good for the price
The lens is at a very low price. It gives good magnification and a clear and well focussed image, but you need to use a tripod.

Opteka 52mm Macro lens
This is a nice toy to add to my photographic system. From the first few results it seems to do an excellent job. Well worth the money and good fun too.
