this slider is amazing! straight out the box it was smooth even with my 5D MARK ii which was amazing. to fix the jitter actually hold your camera and relive the weight of it on the tracks and it will go real smooth. And thats it brilliant and would definitely recommend this!!

This slider is definitely worth the money.

Having researched the item for around 6 months before buying, I was pleased to find that the slider was very smooth and well made on arrival. If you make sure that it's well mounted on your tripod and hold the carriage (rather than your camera) whilst using the slider, you should get great results. I'm using a Canon 5D which is probably at the upper end of its weight capacity - I wouldn't use it with telephoto lenses due to their weight and front-heaviness but with most lenses, it should be fine.

Like all sliders, it's something you'll want to protect so you don't create nicks and chips in the track. It comes in a sturdy cardboard box with decent foam (not awful polystyrene) inserts, meaning you can keep it in there. If it's not sliding perfectly for you, a tip that was passed on to me was to add a little Pledge polish and it'll be incredibly smooth. I did this and it's fantastic.

The product beats others out there on price alone. I recommend this for the amateur film maker on a budget.

The self lubricating rails work as they're supposed to, and I've got some great gliding shots with it. I recommend using a rubber band hooked around part of the camera to pull it along, as this makes for really smooth gliding.

However, the baseplate screw came with a sprung washer between it and the base plate. This is designed to prevent jamming between the screw and the plate, and to make it easy to undo again. BUT, upon the very first tightening, the sprung washer literally gouged into the softer metal on the base plate, and jammed in.

Someone obviously selected the wrong materials; the washer metal was harder that the base plate metal, so it just gored into it when tightened.

I dealt with this with some pliers, and replaced the washer with a standard washer, which now works fine, no permanent damage done.

So overall, it works well, but I recommend swapping out that original washer.

I had been watching many videos with this slide effect being used. So I started to shop around for a suitable glider track.

This one arrived swiftly and was pretty easy to set up. I rigged my camera on and my tests were good and as expected. The motion is not super smooth, but that's down to you to be honest. If you get the smooth motion right, then the shots you can capture look perfect and no one would ever know you were using a budget glider track!! :)

OK, it's not the best glider out there but it's light, effective, and easy to use. It's important to look after it. Mine arrived in perfect shape. I did a bit of a review on it. It's not silent but good for model shots and if you're doing overdubs!
