this stands as Fela's finest hour.
It's as good as impossible to choose a single favourite song from all of
Fela's output, as a whole lot of it rank among the fattest, funkiest and tightest
music ever recorded, but Colonial Mentality would at least be in the top five
section. What a song, and what a groove!
I don't now how many times I have played it over the years, but it hits me with a
spark each time. This song was also my entrance point to Fela, a friend taped a
copy of it, and I was hooked the minute I heard it. Incredible!
Sorrow, Tears And Blood is also a Fela classic, and makes this an essential buy.
