5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyed the book very much--it was a little gem! 23 April 1999
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
The tone of the piece, with a light, deft touch, molded a book full of reverence for a plant used by people since time immemorial. A slim, but fact-filled and opinions given, much shared by me, personally about the politics about the simple facts of plant chemistry. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and, I believe, so is evil. And, in reality, there is no evil. Earth is paradise, with water, plants, and animals and we're all here to live and grow here together.--Loved the book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Decent introduction to opium 3 Oct 2003
Format:Paperback
Pro opium book that presents a solid argument in an easy to read manner. Nothing particularly new to find here, but certainly a sound start for someone looking to learn a little bit more about the subject.

5.0 out of 5 stars Changed my life 31 July 1999
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
I have always played it straight, didn't drink until I was 21, never used any illegal drugs, I was never interested in getting high. But after 30 minutes of reading this book, I was so excited about opium I could barely contain myself! Everything they taught us in school was wrong - ignore the propaganda, read this book, and the truth will set you free! For further discussion join the opium_eaters group at onelist.com.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Informative ~~~~~~ A great Read!!! 8 Jun 1999
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
Jim Hogshire has lifted all the silence and mystery. He has brought the poppy into our living room. And he's done it with a flair and with origionality. I found the book informative, easy to read, and enjoyed the little quips thrown in by the author. A truly great reference work, as well as an easy, enjoyable book. Great job!!
