Product Description

Product Description

A long-time market leader in this discipline, Slack has set the standards in Operations Management which other textbooks seek to emulate. Expert authorship, an engaging writing style, and an interesting collection of cases combine to communicate the importance of managing operations and processes within a successful organisation.

Operations Management provides a strategic perspective, whilst also examining the practical issues which organisations face on a day to day basis. It uses over 120 examples from all over the world, reflecting the balance of economic activity between service (c.75%) and manufacturing (c.25%) operations.

perfect condition 30 Jan 2011
Format:Paperback
The delivery of the item was quick. When i recieved the item it was in perfect condition. I would definatly recommend using this seller. The book itself is great because it makes the purpose of operations and subject matter very clear. There is questions at the beginning of each chapter, you read the chapter answer the questions and there is a summary of what was covered in the chapter. the MyOMLab is great for practising your skills needed to pass the module. This book is highly recommended.

A decent textbook 24 Feb 2010

Format:Paperback
I got this book as my university recommened it for the course. So far its been pretty useful, and I'm pretty sure with it i won't even need to go the lectures, considering they pretty much teach out of the book. Its clear, concise and explains concepts pretty well. Quite colourful and has a lot of good examply case studies in it.

overall a useful texbook -> also came with a special code in the front which which gives you access to online materials, though i haven't used it yet.

It never ceases to amaze me how publishers try and squeeze every last penny out of hard up students with new editions of textbooks that are identical to previous ones in almost every single way bar new case studies; yes those little 1 page things on each chapter that all thats changed. And guess what they all haven't changed; Acme Whistle is still there so don't bother with this edition heck don't bother with the previous one either because the 4th edition will suffice. Trust me; the changes are minor.
